At Lloyd R. Wilson & Associates, we are dedicated to helping our clients conserve wealth and protect the extensive assets that have been built, in some cases, over several generations. For nearly 50 years, Lloyd R. Wilson has been designing and implementing strategies to help his clients conserve their wealth and transfer their assets to future generations and to the charitable organizations they support. He founded Lloyd R. Wilson and Associates in 1970, a financial firm that assists clients with the transference of wealth, the minimization of tax burdens, and the maximization of charitable contributions to public and private foundations and institutions.
In 1993, Lloyd co-founded The Nautilus Group®, a Dallas-based resource center that now employs specialists with backgrounds in law, taxation, accounting, and charitable planning to assist in the design and execution of these strategies. The Nautilus Group® is a service of New York Life Insurance Company and is an exclusive advanced planning resource for designing estate conservation, philanthropic and business continuation strategies.
Prior to entering the financial services industry, Lloyd completed his undergraduate studies at Auburn University and the University of West Alabama before attending Cumberland Law School. He then continued his education at The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA where he received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) and Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designations.
In his free time, Lloyd enjoys Porsche racing with the Porsche Club of America and spending time with his wife, Sherry, and his three children, Reed, Jennifer and Kelly. He is also an amateur photographer, having studied with National Geographic in New York. Some of his work can be viewed here.

Through Eagle Strategies, Lloyd Wilson provides fee-based financial planning, investment advisory services, and access to investment management programs. Eagle Strategies LLC is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as an “Investment Adviser” and is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company.
Ash Brokerage is an unaffiliated privately owned, family-operated insurance brokerage general agency. Ash provides us with a multitude of products and support for life insurance, long-term care, disability income, and annuities, not available through New York Life or its subsidiaries. Our partnership with Ash complements our mission to provide our clients with objective solutions to suit their individual needs.
CPI Companies
Our firm works with third party unaffiliated CPI Companies for life insurance brokerage to provide access to tailor- made financial strategies, services and products that our high net worth clients expect and deserve.
SM2 Advisors
SM2 Advisors provides customized and detailed interactions with other professionals in the financial field to assure the maximization of value for their clients. They sell lower middle market enterprises with revenues from 10 million to 150 million dollars.

Founded in 1994, Adams Capital Management, Inc. is a Pittsburgh-based venture capital firm that provides direct access to the best deals within its area of expertise: Information Technology and Networking Infrastructure. Since the firms inception, it has raised over $815 million.

Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham
Lloyd is a member of the board of directors of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham. Originally created in 1959 by a group of prominent community leaders, the foundation has connected many influential community individuals to "build a stronger, more vibrant future for [the] community." The foundation serves the communities in the regions surrounding Birmingham, AL, including Blount, Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby and Walker counties.
Baptist Health Foundation
Lloyd is a member of the board of directors as well as a member of the finance committee of the Baptist Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The nonprofit is the central hub for all philanthropic gifts for the Baptist Health System and its four hospitals. Their mission is to use the funding and the community resources available to "enhance the health, dignity and wholeness of those [they] serve."
Parkinson Association of Alabama
Lloyd is a member of the board of directors of the Parkinson Association of Alabama, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is dedicated to being a resource and support group for new and improved treatments of Parkinson's disease. The nonprofit founders were also patients with the disease and their family members, as well as additional medical professionals.

Our Approach
One thing our clients appreciate about working with us is that we don’t believe in cookie-cutter services or a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we follow a meticulous process designed to help get to know each client’s situation, goals, and level of risk tolerance so that we can make appropriate recommendations to meet their needs. Everyone is different and we may amend our approach to suit a specific client, but in general, we utilize the following process to help those we’re privileged to serve.
Step 1: Review
Every family's financial situation is unique. That's why it's so important to find out as much as we can about you and your financial goals. The more we know about you, the more precise recommendations we can make and the more we can help you. As a result, we may take some time to discuss your hopes, dreams, and objectives, and the things that really matter to you. This is the basis for the first meeting with anyone we sit down with.
Step 2: Analyze
As needed, we will work with you to identify and prioritize your objectives, and then help establish benchmark goals. This is important because we live in a world of unlimited choices. People often fail to achieve objectives because they try to accomplish too much at once, or they don't attach specific deadlines to their goals. By breaking down your goals to specific objectives, you can look at available resources and decide which goals are realistic, and which should be adjusted and scaled down.
Step 3: Develop
Based on our conversation and analysis, we can recommend the steps that it will take to help you achieve your financial goals.
Step 4: Coordinate
We regularly coordinate insurance and financial activities for clients with the other members of their team of financial, tax, and legal advisors. We can do the same for you.
Step 5: Implement
We'll implement your strategy, and work closely with you and your other third party professionals to ensure its success. We'll monitor progress and provide ongoing service as your needs and situation change over time.
Step 6: Monitor
This is not a one-shot deal. Strategies need to be adjusted periodically as your life and the economy changes. We will work with you over the years to help keep your strategy on track with your changing needs.
